3. Bringing Rio, our labrador, who was trained to be a seeing-eye dog. She is quiet, well behaved, and was an asset to our B&B. In some circumstances we can leave her with family or friends.

SERVICES

A. INNSITTING

Rates: The usual rate is 30% of gross daily revenue of rooms occupied during engagement with a minimum of $100/day and a maximum of $200/day.  For short term engagements there would be a minimum fee of $350. With long term engagements and for alternative situations the rates can be negotiated.

Services:

  • Reservations: taking and processing reservations by phone and on-line
  • Guest check-in and check-out
  • Familiarization with the local area in order to act as a concierge
  • Breakfast: preparation and serving in the style of your inn
  • Minor shopping
  • Cleaning: kitchen and dining area
  • Light housekeeping: common areas
  • Making up and cleaning a maximum of 3 rooms and bathrooms on a daily basis
  • Changing of linen for newly arriving or long-term guests
  • Washing of sheets, towels, tablecloths
  • Care of pets and plants
  • Keeping of a log of daily activities and messages

Note: With 4-8 rooms occupied the duties are as above but additional staff is a requirement when more than 3 rooms are occupied.

  • Supervising staff who will help clean and make up rooms and do laundry and help with cleaning up kitchen and dining area
  • Supervising staff who do thorough housecleaning
  • Supervising staff who do outside yard and garden work and snow removal

Experience shows that a B&B remaining open when the innkeeper is away generates revenue and increases customer satisfaction by being continuously open for reservations.

B. CONSULTING

Consultation: $50/hour for consultation including preparation and meeting times. The first hour is free.
